The cooking surface measures 20-1/2 by 10-1/2 inches, large enough for pancakes, sausages, and hash browns. Its non-stick coating helps keep food from sticking, minimizes the need for fat, and speeds cleanup. Resting on its raised frame, the griddle features Cool Touch handles and edges to protect fingers and countertops. A raised griddle edge on three sides directs drippings toward the built-in grease trough that drains into a removable tray. An improvement on the designs of yesterday, the griddle is completely immersible once the temperature control is removed. It even goes in the dishwasher. The control itself has a ready light and a wide menu of settings, conveniently marked with Fahrenheit temperatures up to 425 degrees. Though its size is welcome in use, the griddle does require a lot of cupboard space, as it measures 25 by 12-1/2 inches from end to end. Rival includes a one-year warranty.

When fully opened, the cooking surface measures a generous 21 by 10 inches, with a grease-channel around the perimeter and a removable drip tray. The two smooth-finish, nonstick plates cook up everything from eggs to grilled cheese sandwiches to hotdogs and hamburgers, and remove for convenient cleaning in the dishwasher.
Dual control knobs, one for each half, give this griddle extra versatility.
