Quality Absinthe Spoon. Traditional Style. Stainless Steel. Traditional Absinthe Spoon made from Stainless Steel. The traditional La Fée Absinthe spoon, slotted and etched with the La Fée eye logo, perfect for serving absinthe the traditional way. Chrome plating over brass. 205mm/8.07" long. Does not tarnish. Dishwasher safe. Imported from France. You know the one thing that would make my life complete? Other than £100 million, a personal shoemaker, and all the technology in the world, of course. (I already have true love.) A USB absinthe spoon. Absinthe is not a drug and will not make you hallucinate, high or make you go crazy. Fire has no part in the absinthe ritual. Lighting absinthe on fire is a modern marketing ploy used only to sell foul tasting “absinth.” Real absinthe is not overly bitter. It is, however, smooth, refreshing and tastes delicious.

This replica Sebor Absinth spoon is Modelled on an 1890 design. The Sebor sugar spoon is a must for all who want to try the Czech Absinth ritual. Although absinthe was sometimes drunk straight or in a variety of mixed drinks, the classic method of drinking it involves pouring cold water over a slotted spoon which contains sugar into a glass containing a shot of absinthe. As the water hits the absinthe, the oils precipitate out, and the drink changes from a clear emerald colour to an opaque, milky white. There were several types of specialized absinthe drinking paraphenalia. The most famous one is the slotted spoon (example pictured to the right). These spoons' holes served to allow the absinthe to better carry the sugar into the glass. In addition, the spoons were often designed to fit over the glass, balancing on their own.
